Social needs of individuals demand nowadays greater attention in the process of education. The author finds space for creation and development of social competencies of pupils in educational environment of the civil theory subject and in the context of the educational area of Human being and the society and the cross-section topic of Personal and social development. Social competences represent a complex of knowledge, skills, abilities, where the fields of communication and cooperation are involved and which can be regarded fundamental, therefore, in this paper, the author aims at their presentation and implementation possibilities in the development of the pupil’s personality.
