In the paper, the author aims at chronical and current issues in the school literary communication, outlines priorities, innovative trends and methods in the didactics of literature with the aim to improve the quality of educational practice of future teachers of native language and literature. The literature education synergy with the innovative trend intention and their real implementation into educational practice creates better conditions for the professional development of students of the Slovak language and literature, affects the level of quality of the interpretation process methodological managing when working with literary texts of different kinds and genre provenience. The innovative trends will result in the better preparation of students in the chosen subject field and its creative methodological transformation.
